Dealing with Menopause-No Hormones Necessary

April 10, 2019

Dealing with Menopause without using hormones

Menopause is a difficult period in woman’s life. Someone compared it to being caught in a rough surf and not being able to get out. We throw covers on and off during the night, cannot sleep and don’t let our spouses sleep either. We turn red and sweaty in the most inappropriate time at work. We are constantly irritable, get hot sweats, and are always tired. Everything our significant others do irritates us. Our hair is thinning and we tend to gain weight, which doesn’t help the situation. I could go on and on, but you know what I’m talking about.

For those women who do not want to or cannot use hormones: do not despair for there is a safe and effective holistic way to emerge from this misery and reach the calm waters. In my practice we use homeopathy and acupuncture to help with menopausal symptoms. These are safe and effective holistic methods.

Homeopathic approach is a very individualized one. It is based on symptoms unique for each patient. For example, if hot flashes start in the pit of your stomach and rise up to your face, you are treated differently than when you feel like they start at the top of your head and spread down, or if you get palpitations, or if your face turns bright red.

We are all different and our treatment should reflect those differences. Homeopathic approach requires an in-depth consultation with the physician.  It addresses all the symptoms that the patient has.

Homeopathy is a truly holistic medicine. If a woman consults a homeopath with menopausal problems – say hot flushes only – the homeopath will still look at the person as a whole, and not just prescribe a remedy for the hot flushes.

Acupuncture is another non-hormonal way that helps alleviate menopause symptoms. Not only can it decrease occurrences of hot flashes, but also helps with anxiety, depression and insomnia.

Both treatment methods work very well, especially in combination with each other. If you have more questions, reserve your free 15 minute information session.
